How does  digital practice reshape art, humanities and social sciences? What  business models will support the new dissemination of knowledge and open  access to data? Qu&rsquo;en  est-il  des institutions qui portent ces sciences\u00a0? Une nouvelle  \u00e9cologie  cognitive est en jeu, car les donn\u00e9es num\u00e9riques sont \u00e0 la fois  le  fruit et la cause de ces transformations. Le multim\u00e9dia affecte les   liens et repr\u00e9sentations symboliques qui d\u00e9finissent les cultures.   Simultan\u00e9ment, les acc\u00e8s oblig\u00e9s auxquels contraignent les moteurs de   recherche (Google!) orientent les choix \u00e9ditoriaux et cognitifs.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;interactivit\u00e9  des contenus provoque un \u00e9clatement de la notion  traditionnelle  \u00ab\u00a0d&rsquo;auteur\u00a0\u00bb, et donc \u00ab\u00a0d&rsquo;autorit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb. De nouvelles  communaut\u00e9s de travail  scientifique renouvellent les formes de  publication et d&rsquo;\u00e9dition du  savoir. Par-del\u00e0 l&rsquo;autorit\u00e9 des comit\u00e9s  sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s, les r\u00e9seaux  collaboratifs de chercheurs d\u00e9multiplient les  modes d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation et de  validation. Les \u00e9changes entre pairs sont au  c\u0153ur des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s et le  num\u00e9rique est devenu un \u00e9l\u00e9ment central  d&rsquo;am\u00e9nagement du territoire et  de d\u00e9mocratie, Face \u00e0 ces bouleversements, l&rsquo;\u00e9dition des SHS  s&rsquo;interroge. Au quotidien,  les acteurs priv\u00e9s internationaux ont dot\u00e9  l&rsquo;univers documentaire  d&rsquo;instruments librement accessibles et d&rsquo;une  puissance in\u00e9gal\u00e9e. Comment  alors promouvoir les droits patrimoniaux,  diversifier les mod\u00e8les et  qualifier des entreprises innovantes, mais  sans mod\u00e8le \u00e9conomique  \u00e9vident\u00a0? La mise en r\u00e9seau des acteurs de  l&rsquo;\u00e9dition num\u00e9rique est-elle  le pr\u00e9alable \u00e0 des \u00e9volutions positives\u00a0?  Au temps des documents ouverts  et interop\u00e9rables, la diffusion  num\u00e9rique des \u0153uvres libres de droits  leur laissera-t-elle le temps de  s&rsquo;adapter\u00a0? Quelle \u00e9conomie pour l&rsquo;open  access\u00a0? L&rsquo;\u00e9dition en ligne  peut-elle \u00e9viter les monopoles et accro\u00eetre  tant sa fiabilit\u00e9 que son  inventivit\u00e9\u00a0?  De quelles grandes \u0153uvres  peut-elle \u00eatre porteuse\u00a0?<\/p>\n<p>Les  acteurs acad\u00e9miques et ceux de la cha\u00eene \u00e9ditoriale ont \u00e9t\u00e9  amen\u00e9s \u00e0  reconsid\u00e9rer leurs missions, repenser leurs strat\u00e9gies et leurs   alliances. Les institutions agissant selon des normes internationales   s&rsquo;impliquent dans la d\u00e9termination d&rsquo;une gouvernance ad\u00e9quate. Balis\u00e9e   par les propositions de rapports officiels &#8211; en France ceux de Bruno   Patino en 2008, de Marc Tessier en 2010 -, une nouvelle carte des   dynamiques culturelles et scientifiques se dessine. L&rsquo;accent est mis sur   les modes d&rsquo;organisation, de gouvernance et d&rsquo;animation de r\u00e9seaux   sociaux adapt\u00e9s aux infrastructures num\u00e9riques.<\/p>\n<p>A l&rsquo;instar du  projet europ\u00e9en DARIAH visant \u00e0 faciliter  l&rsquo;utilisation des sciences  humaines num\u00e9riques et le patrimoine culturel  de l&rsquo;information, ces  questions sont d\u00e9battues aux \u00c9tats-Unis par  exemple dans le projet  Bamboo, ou dans le cadre de la Society for  Scholarly Publishing qui  \u0153uvre pour encourager la communication entre  les secteurs de la  communaut\u00e9 de publication scientifique, par la mise  en r\u00e9seau, la  diffusion de l&rsquo;information et la facilitation de nouveaux   d\u00e9veloppements dans les sciences humaines.<\/p>\n<p>Prenant l&rsquo;initiative  d&rsquo;un colloque international, Sens Public et  le TGE-Adonis (CNRS), dans  le cadre de DARIAH, entendent dresser l&rsquo;\u00e9tat  des lieux, favoriser des  mutualisations et exposer les enjeux de ces  bouleversements de la vie  intellectuelle et scientifique.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9labor\u00e9 \u00e0 partir des th\u00e8mes du  s\u00e9minaire \u00ab\u00a0\u00c9ditorialisation des  sciences humaines et sociales\u00a0\u00bb  (Laboratoire MSH Paris-Nord, en  partenariat avec l&rsquo;INHA\/InVisu), le  programme des communications est  pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 sur le wiki d\u00e9di\u00e9 au  colloque\u00a0:  \u00ab\u00a0En ligne-Hors ligne\u00a0\u00bb &#8211; <a title=\"http:\/\/www.wiki.sens-public.org\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wiki.sens-public.org\/\">http:\/\/www.wiki.sens-public.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The practices associated with the human sciences  are being  radically transformed by the rapid expansion of access to,  and  interchange of, digital data. How will the institutions which  support  these disciplines be affected? A new knowledge ecosystem is at  stake,  since digital data are both the root and the fruit of these   transformations: multimedia affect the symbolic links and  representations which define cultures. At the same time, what we choose   to publish &#8211; and to think &#8211; is shaped and constrained by the paths to   which search engines such as Google restrict us.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Interactive  content explodes the traditional notions of the  &lsquo;author&rsquo; and hence of  &lsquo;authority&rsquo;. New scientific working communities  are regenerating the  forms of knowledge publishing and editing. Beyond  the authority of  specialist committees, collaborative networks of  researchers enhance  the process of evaluation and validation. Peer to  peer exchanges are at  the core of society; the digital has become a  central element in  land-use planning and even for democracy. Confronted  with these  upheavals, knowledge distribution in the human sciences must  reassess  its priorities. On a daily basis, international players in the  private  sector provide the world of documentation with freely accessible  tools  whose power is second to none. How then can legal rights be  promoted,  models be diversified, and innovating companies be encouraged,  in the  absence of any clear business model? Is the networking of  digital  publishers necessary for positive development? In an age of open  and  interoperable documents, will digital distribution of  out-ofcopyright  works leave the players time to adapt? What kind of  business model is  appropriate for open access? Can online publishing do  away with  monopolies and increase its reliability in line with its  inventiveness?  Which great works can thereby be supported?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Academics and  publishers alike have been led to reconsider their  missions, to  readjust their strategies and reconfigure their alliances.  Institutions  which operate according to international standards are of  necessity  attempting to determine appropriate governance structures.  Guided by  official proposals and reports &#8211; in France those made by Bruno  Patino  in 2008, and by Marc Tessier in 2010 &#8211; a new map of cultural and  scientific dynamics is being  drawn up. Emphasis is being placed on the  modes of organisation,  governance and management of social networks  best adapted to digital  infrastructures.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Following the example  of the DARIAH project, which aims to build  the digital infrastructure  for human sciences and cultural heritage  across Europe, these issues  are also being debated in the United States:  for instance in the Bamboo  project, or in such contexts as the Society  for Scholarly Publishing.  Communication between the various sectors of  the scientific publishing  community is to be fostered through  networking, the diffusion of  information and the facilitation of new developments in human sciences.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Taking  the initiative of an international symposium, the &lsquo;Sens  Public&rsquo; unit  and the TGE-Adonis (CNRS), within the framework of DARIAH,  will take  stock, promote mutualisations and outline the stakes of these  upheavals  in intellectual and scientific life.
