Un examen plus attentif des usages de la photographie dans le contexte presse, et plus particuli\u00e8rement ceux promus par le format magazine, contredit la doxa affich\u00e9e par les professionnels et montre un brouillage de la fronti\u00e8re entre information et communication. L&rsquo;illustration appara\u00eet comme un mode majeur de la relation \u00e0 l&rsquo;image dans les pratiques informationnelles, ainsi qu&rsquo;une contribution essentielle \u00e0 la mise en r\u00e9cit journalistique. Indication d&rsquo;\u00e9chelle, outil de qualification de l&rsquo;actualit\u00e9, l&rsquo;image assure diverses fonctions \u00e9ditoriales et est utilis\u00e9e pour v\u00e9hiculer des messages implicites.
